From a Bay to a Palace. The transition from Topkapı Palace to Dolmabahçe Dolmabahçe, was to be used as an alternative to the Topkapi Palace. After the Ottoman dynasty left the country, the property would serve as the President of the Presidency between 1927-1949. In 1984 it was turned into a "museum-palace".
